Hello

I bought my new system parts and put them together last night (my frist time building my own pc) and as im not really the expert on this area i was wondering if my ram configuration is setup properly.

Also note that CPUZ shows my ram under slot #2 and #4 but im sure that i put those sticks in their right order slots according to the motherboard manual.

Part of my system is:

Intel Core i5 3570K
GIGABYTE GA-Z77X-UD3H (rev. 1.0)
Corsair 8GB DDR3 1600MHz (2x4)Vengeance Low Profile

Hope anyone can help me out ;)

It's running at 1333 (667Mhz) because that's what it defaults to when first installed. Select the XMP profile in the BIOS or just set the speed, timings and voltage manually.

As far as the slot numbering goes, it doesn't really matter as long as they're in 1 and 3 or 2 and 4 for Dual Channel (which 2 and 4 IS, of course).

So basically i go into the bios and enable the XMP profile? do i need to manually set it to 1600Mhz aswell?

Heres the 3D bios options for me:

So i selected the avaiable profile 1 after enabling XMP and below it says memory frequency 1333mhz and next to it says 1600Mhz.

I still get the same thing in CPUZ, what am i doing wrong?

Trust your BIOS, not a random piece of software... make sure when you set the XMP in the BIOS it automatically switches your memory multiplier to 16 and lists the frequency as 1600. Also... make sure you save the changes lol.

Sorry I was late getting back to ya, my internet went out, but anyway, enabling the XMP profile should have done it, but you can do it manually too, just to be sure. Set the speed, timings, and voltage according to what the RAM that you have calls for.
