I've been out of the computer building process for about 7 years or so due to monitary reasons, but I'm looking to get back in the game now! I am having some trouble narrowing down what I want due to options overload. I was thinking of getting an ASUS Maximus V extreme (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131858) with an Intel Core i5 3570k ivy bridge. Looking to make a fairly beefy gaming rig but try not to go too crazy on the price! I'm having some trouble determining which is the best RAM and RAM speed I should get. Also, it mentions being dual channel mobo but looking at most of the 16gb RAM options they say it is quad channel, but my understanding is that doesn't matter, correct?
Thanks for the suggestions and if you have some other "better" mobos, I'll take some suggestions on that as well (big ASUS fan).
