I'm building a mid- ranged rig for a friend, and would like to know which motherboard is better overall: the ASUS P8Z77-M PRO or the ASRock Z77 Extreme4.

BTW, This rig will be powered by an i5-2400.

rolli59, do you have a reasoning to prefer the ASrock board?

I have been wondering the same thing for my own build. Choosing between mid-range Z77 boards is difficult! Too many options for similar prices.

Basically the form factor being ATX versus mATX. I just bought the board I linked to with 3570K with a $25 combo discount of Newegg, it does not have the same amount of power phases as some of the higher boards but plenty for a mild overclock.

Between those I would get the Asrock but really since he has the 2400 I would get this Asus to save money http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

Sadly, the product is not yet available in the market where I live...
But, I'm leaning towards the ASUS one.

The Asus is a good board but is mATX, if it has all the connectivity you need there is nothing wrong going with it.
