Graphics Problems after Game Startup

Trying to troubleshoot where the problem is here:

Installed Europa Universalis III
Opened the game
Crashed after @ 10 seconds
Computer entered sleep mode
Rebooted computer
Start up EXTREMELY slow
Random white pixels on ASUS M2N-SLi start up screen
Screen flashes every 5-10 seconds
When computer finally gets all the way booted up, have very limited/no functionality
Background is black
LED hard drive indicator stopped functioning

Restarted computer multiple times
Flashed BIOS at start up
Started in Safe Mode and did a system restore to a date 5 days prior
Started in safe mode and cleaned the registry

What am I looking at here? Doesn't seem like just a video card problem... Hoping it is.

I am running Windows XP.

I'm not too saavy with computers. Just like to try some basic fixes before spending money on something new. Wait another couple of hours for some advice on here before I reformat the hard drive and see how that goes for me.
