Hey there,

I recently build a new pc for my little brother, but once I finished building it, it wouldn't boot.
I connected everything the way it's supposed to be and everything should be compatible.
When I press the start-button, the PC powers up, stays on for about two secs and then powers off.
I get no input signal on my monitor those two seconds...
When it has powered off, it turns back on after about two or three seconds.
The PC keeps doing that all the time.
I have the internal speaker connected but it doesn't make any sound.
I have reseated the motherboard and power connections several times, but it didn't help.
The thing I don't get though, is that when I take out the RAM, the internal speaker does make sound.
It makes continuous long beeps for about 10-20 seconds, and then the pc powers off again.
And then it turns back on etcetera etcetera.
So I thought that it would maybe have something to do with the RAM.
So I placed a RAM stick of my own PC in his MB, but still it wouldn't start.
And yet another problem occurred.
Because when I put the RAM back into my own PC, this one also wouldn't start any more.
The specs of my brother's PC are:
MB: Gigabyte GA-Z68X-UD3H-B3
RAM: Team Elite 2 x 4 GB DDR3 1333 Mhz
CPU: Intel Core i5 3550 Boxed
GPU: XFX GTX 260 Black Edition

The specs of my PC are:
MB: Asus P8Z68 Deluxe Gen3
RAM: G.Skill RipjawsX F3-10666CL7D-8GBXH
CPU: Intel Core i7 2600k
GPU: XFX GTX 260 Black Edition

The main issue is that I want my own PC to work again with both RAM sticks.
And ofcourse I would like to get my brother's PC working properly.
Thanks in advance for the trouble to be taken!

So in the mean while my own G.Skill RAM module magically started working again in my own PC.
I changed nothing, just put it again another time, and it worked!
But my brother's pc's still not working.
Tried clearing CMOS, though it's a new PC, removed battery for a few minutes and placed it back; no results...
I thought the RAM module(s) might cause a short in the build, but then why does the pc also power off with no RAM modules installed?
Can somebody please help me, I want that thing to work...
