Hi, I've been interested in building my own computer for a while (My current computer was bought from a customizer site) and I figured that I'd go ahead and buy myself a new desktop to game with in college. I was actually building this rig with Battlefield 3 in mind, but I'll be happy with it if can run most current games well. I'd also like the build to have some room for upgrades or SLI/Crossfire if I ever want to do those in the future.

Approximate Purchase Date: Early August

Budget Range: $900 - $1,000 after rebates and shipping. I'd prefer closer to $900.

System Usage from Most to Least Important: Gaming, possible video/special effects editing

Parts Not Required: Monitor

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: newegg.com

Country of Origin: U.S.A

Parts Preferences: Intel i5 2500k CPU, Nvidia brand GPUs, quieter CPU coolers.

Overclocking: Yes

SLI or Crossfire: Maybe in the future

Monitor Resolution: 1920x1080

Additional Comments: Would prefer something water cooled or quiet without any flashy lights, since I'll have a roommate.

I have limited experience with messing with the insides of computers, but this will be my first home build, so I'll happily accept any advice. I appreciate all help, thanks.

Here's some ideas to check out. Also I wouldn't buy that HEC psu...it's a door stop if anything.

Thanks for the suggestions. My only question is how the Cooler Master CPU fan you suggested would compare to the water cooler I posted. Which cools better and which is quieter? The Cooler Master fan I have in my current rig (TX3, I think) can get pretty noticable and I was hoping for something quiet.

Also, what does the Rosewill case have over the NZXT case I posted and does the Gigabyte mobo support SLI? It only mentions Crossfire, and some of the feedback on it mentions it not having SLI.
