Elitegroup H61H2-M2 motherboard

Hi all

I am new to this forum so I hope you can help me,I have this motherboard in my PC and I am looking at upgrading to a SSD drive can anybody on the forum advise me if this board is SATA III? also can anybody tell me if this board is compatible with PC3-12800 DDR3 RAM?, I have checked on Elitegroup website but have not been able to find a definate answer.

Hope you can help me.

  1. SATA II but the interface is backwards compatible so SATA III drives will work. It supports " Support DDR3 1066/1333/1600(with Ivy Bridge) SDRAM"

  2. Based on the specification of this model, it doesn't support SATA III hard drives. However, most of the SATA III hard drives should be backward compatible to the SATA II specification. You may need to check with the SSD drive manufacturer.

    For the memory, PC3-12800 = DDRIII 1600, it should be compatible to this motherboard. As rolli59 mentioned to you, it still depends what CPU you using.
