PC low power mode?

Hi guys,

I've built a PC using parts I've bought online. It's great and all but it's power hungry. I am currently downloading some movies for my family to watch. The only problem is it's gonna take some time on my slow internet connection (25hrs) to finish so I was hoping to leave it on overnight. Is there software around that can set my computer to low power mode? Turning the screen off doesn't feel like enough.

If the community can help that would be greatly appreciated!

If the computer is not working on a high load it is on low power already if you have cool and quiet (AMD) or speed step (Intel) enabled in BIOS.
A third party solution would only put more load on it.
