Not really, a modern integrated graphics processor can handle high definition video, any discrete card can do it without a challenge, the memory and bandwidth only come into play with very graphically intensive applications that involve rendering like gaming or 3d modeling.

no. video playback can be done on the lowest of integrated graphics and cpu. its not overly straining to hardware.
