Need to use cropping tool (in program like elements) and tell tool you want
8x10 crop, then move corners around until you've cropped a rectangle you
like (that has correct aspect ratio).

Your original pic is not in correct aspect ratio for 8x10 and can't be made
into 8x10 without distortion, which you don't want. You need a decent
cropping tool. Cropping tools are fabulous and essential for digital
photography, and you will thank yourself 1000 times for learning to use one
properly. What program are you using?

You'll probably get much more meaningful answers if you explained what "it" was.

Not all editing/printing software is the same. I'm sure someone reading this
group uses whatever you're using and can walk you through it.

You didn't say what software you are printing with, but most photo
software allows you to LOCK the aspect ratio of the image to the aspect
ratio of the original. You should always elect that option to prevent
the distortion of the picture.

The aspect ratio of the print may well not agree with the aspect ratio
of the image you are printing. 8x10 is a 5:4 aspect, fits neither 35mm
(3:2) or 4:3 digicams. So you MUST crop. It is up to you to select how
and where to crop.
