Why is the 6870 faster than the 5850?

Hey, I'm just curious... Why is it that the 6870 is faster than the 5850? this site
shows that the 5850 has quite a few superior aspects... but somehow the 6870 in actual application is several percent faster... what?

yeah you cannot compare specs side by side they are different.... in the end the 6870 is basically a 5850 performance wise anyways, and both can generally be oc'ed to 5870 speeds
