Your resolution plays a factor, and so does your refresh rate, which you haven't given.

If you have v-sync on, and a refresh rate of 60hz, which is the most common by far, you are capped at 60 FPS which is the most frames your monitor can display. To go higher you'd have to turn off v-sync.

If you have a high resolution, your FPS will not be as high as someone with a lower resolution.

but beware because if your monitor has 60Hz refresh rate and your fps exceeds 60, it might result in image tearing and will ruin your gaming experience.Just check the monitor specifications from monitor's properties.
