Hi all,

My computer specs are as follows:

Core i5 3550
CM v6gt
2x4gb CORSAIR Vengeance 1600C9

My problem now is it wanna increase the ram by adding another 2x4gb sticks. But the fan is too huge, and the corsair vengeance ram are too tall to fit in the slots nearer to the fan. The v6gt is blocking the first two ram slots. May I know if I can get rams of a different model that are shorter to fit it in? Will using two different types of ram models at the same time cause any problems?

I'm currently looking to get shorter ram sticks to fit in. Any recommendations?

Please advise, TIA.

I'm assuming you are using the Vengeance RAM sticks with the tall heat spreader. Corsair makes Vengeance low profile sticks. As long as the specs (speed, voltage, latency, timing, etc) are the same, you should be able to run those with your current RAM.
