Ok im going to build a rig:

i5 3570k
GTX670

The motherboard i was looking at was the Arock Z77 Extreme 4 motherboard. Is this a decent board? Also i noticed it has 4 ram slots. is a 4x 2gb ram set up ok? or is 4x4gb recommended?

The bargain hunters around here will tell you that the Asrock is a good board. I have a different opinion, however, and think that unless you are strapped for cash, you should go with Asus or Gigabyte. They are constructed much better than the Asrock boards.

As to your ram question, either configuration is OK.

U can definitely use this one -> ASRock Z77 Extreme 4 -> ... Latest Z77...

I just build PC with this mobo and I like the BIOS, its looks like this.

Works as expected @ 4.4GHz

That is a great mobo choice for the CPU. It has good power design for OC.

Rather than 4x2GB RAM, get 2x4GB RAM.

If u like to do video and other editing, than get 16GB RAM. For games it enough.

I prefer 16GB.

I recommend CORSAIR Vengeance 99% of the time, quality RAM and low profile with XMP profile. And if u will get an aftermarket CPU cooler, low profile is the worry free remedy with perfect fit with any large cooler.

Vengeance Low Profile heat spreaders have a reduced height of 1.03" (26.25mm). They're designed for high-performance systems with extra-large CPU coolers, small form factor system builds, or any other space-constrained application where standard Vengeance memory might not fit.
