Im building what will be a gaming rig and i was wondering what is required/recommended to finish
off this build.
So far i have
CASE
NZXT Phantom - Black (running all 7 fan setup Blue LED)
MOBO
Gigabyte 990FXA-UD3 (AM3+ socket)
CPU
Phenom II x6 1100T BE (3.3ghz) (stock CPU Cooler)
RAM
Mushkin Black Edition 8gm ram 1600mhz (2x4gb)
PSU
Cooler Master Silent ProM 1000W
The Final Items i will need will be
GPU options
1) CF 6850
2) 6950 2gb (with another in a few months when/if prices drop)
3) CF 6870 (affraid to spend on cards that wont carry the resale when 7xxx comes around)
4) HD 6990 (break my budget and skip the next generation GPUs)
my price on GPU would be 350 max (barring option 4)
SSD
any small (32-64gb max) SSD to use only as Boot drive and carry firefox/chrome
HDD
500GB Hard Drive for Games (primarily/only)
1TB Hard Drive for everything else
Optical
standard DVD/CD RW?
I was told not to bother with a Blu Drive (and i have PS3)
OS
Windows 7 64bit Home Premium
buying OS last because comp wont be used until all other items added (SSD/HDD,GPU,Optical drive)
I have not gamed in some time (too much work) and this has become a personal project i found out i enjoy doing/building however i will go through crysis (whole series) and definetly hit BFBC3, WoW and basicly anything
that will make use of my RIG.
any suggestions comments welcomed i would like to have this up and running within 2 weeks.
