Hey all,

Computer bonked out on me. First the power supply started cutting out then I think the mother board PCIE slot died on me as well. Bought a new power supply 850w and cheapy vid card to trouble shoot and no luck.

I'm looking to purchase some new parts asap. Gonna need a case/cpu/cooler/ram/mobo | going to recycle my old crappy HD / dvd/cd burner/ vid card for now.

I looking to get an eyefinity setup in the future so def going to need a good mobo for cross fire. unfortunately funds are tapped for now so going to buy the cross fire cards in the future along with ssd.

looking to spend between 500-700. Or less depending on what you guys think. i5 2500k?

Thanks everyone in advanced. Like I said im looking to purchase asap... cant live without my comp :)

if you can get the i5-2500k then get it, with this build, i would go with a better PSU, sounds like your PSU gave up on you. stick to corsair, antec and seasonic. they all make solid PSUs but may be a bit more expensive (IMO worth it) corsair TX-850 is a nice PSU but may be overkill if you don't SLI or xfire. coolermaster hyper 212 is a nice CPU cooler, cheap and effective. 4gb ram should be enough for you, just get the cheapest 1600mhz ram with heat spreaders and a latency 9-9-9-24 or higher. Mobo wise i would go with z68, ASUS has a good rep. but also has high prices, gigabyte mobos are solid at a reasonable price. buy whatever case you like, IMO the case is a personal preference thing.

this mobo will SLI and xfire, are you 100% sure that the i5-2500 is the "k" version? the "k" version is usually $10 more than that. if you are getting the normal version, there is no need for a cooler as the multiplier is locked (no OC). nothing wrong with the RAM. could you please link the CPU and PSU so i can double check what you are getting
