So I'm getting ready to slap together a new system built around a Intel Core i5-2500K Sandy Bridge 3.3GHz. I was looking over Mobos and what not and to be honest It's been a while. I'm more than a bit lost as to what I should be looking for. The last Build I did was back in 2000 so you can see my dilema. Any and all help is appreciated...even if my processor is out of date.

Thanks all. I look forward to your help

Im working with about 1200 but obviously if I can save it would be nice.

Aside from the internals of the tower I have everything else though I suppose a new HD wouldn't hurt.

Interesting choices. I didn't even notice that turbo boosted i5. What made you go with the graphics card you chose?

Yes mjmj. I was asking you about your choice in gfx card. I have a Smilodon case and I do need to upgrade my monitor,
July 30, 2011 9:05:32 PM

first off sorry about the double post

your case is good...

you can duel up your monitors which will be a big upgrade just want to know how big it is and what your screen resolution is

i chose that card because it was the most powerful card in your budget (w/out a monitor) maybe this combo if you are getting another monitor- http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?Ite...

I onl;y have a 17" monitor and I run at 1400x900.

The gfx card you posted earlier will that last me a while? I like many others don't want to have to upgrade it next year when some new games come out.
July 31, 2011 6:18:11 AM

yes itll last you a while
ya i guess you need a whole new monitor
