Let me start by sying I havent been into gaming for the past 5 years as it was spent in Afghanistan. With that said please dont be too harsh on my questions as alot has changed since I went from fraggin on Counter Strike to men with kids and at times kids with AK's. I am replacing an emachine that was 2.2 single core as thats all the cores available then anyways it has a 256mb G.C. with 4GB of ram running on windows XP,so anything will be an upgrade from a PC that Jesus himself may have porn on. Alright onto the businsess of asking questions. First I made the mistake of buying a new PC,after doing my own research but before installing a crucial brain patch/upgrade for my noggin of" what has been happening with PC's for the past 5 years" Down to the business I bought a CyberpowerPC Gamer Ultra GUA140 Gaming Desktop PC from Amazon for $519 and also purchased a New Video card it's a Sapphire HD 6850 PCIE Video Card (100315L) $149.99 free shipping on both and the girl who took my order is giving me a $20 Amazon credit for having to spend time looking elsewhere for better specs and the card come with a $15 mail in rebate bringing the total cost down to $633. The PC specs are as follows; Processor: AMD Phenom II x4 955 Black Edition / 3.2GHz OC upto 3.8 is msx to remain stable
4GB DDR3 SDRAM (expandable to 8GB)crucial says 16GB
Hard Drive: 1TB (7200 RPM) Serial ATA-II, 4X DVD±RW Dual-Layer Super-Multi Drive
AMD Radeon HD5450 512MB (Getting replaced upon arrival with the Saphire HD 6850
Genuine Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit) 500 watt power supply 1 Was this a mistake to buy total spent so far $633 ? How much better could I have done for the same money building it 100% thats what I really want to know. Would it have been worth the trouble? Cyberpower comes with a warranty and lifetime tech support which is something a 100% build doesnt have
2 What would a good but cheap PSU replacement be ? I'm thinking a 600-750? Would this be suffecient as I plan to run the Saphire HD 6850 for as long as possible. 3 Will the 4GB of ram be enough? I will be doing all my picture, videos etc... on my Emachine that Jesus stole from a dinasour. So I will basically just be surfing the net and playing a couple of games. 4 Right now the only games I have are the Steam package that includes a bunch of titles that all came with Counter Strike when I bought it,stuff like Day of Defeat all the different half life's, Red orchestra. I like C.S. and DOD first person shooters.Any recomendations on upto date F.P.S. games would be much appreciated 5 This will be my first attempt to overclock my Processor and Video card so if anyone has a suggestion where I can find help for the specific components I have listed I hope that I havent screwed up too bad so any of my questions you could answer would be great and let me know if I just laid a big fat egg. I hope I didnt screw up too bad,let me know if I did please let me know what I did wrong or if I could have done better on a $700 budget. Thanks for taking the time to read my novel and I look forward to fragging you somewhere, someday in game. That is unless your oneahdem dam Communist Jihad penis lovin terrorist, then I most definately have a hot lead Last Supper for ya,I hope your hungry. Peace and Chicken thier both good for ya unless your a terrorist or a chicken. Thanks again !!!!

One thing I did forget to as is a recomendation for a good anti-virus/spyware that have minimal drain on resources and also a mid level sound card also. The Cyberpower does come with 7.1 surround but I cant imagine its a very good setup. I dont want to spend too much. Again thanks for any help

wall of text much.

a 550w PSU would be more than sufficient for a 6850, just make sure its a good brand like corsair, xfx or antec.
4GB of RAM is plenty for most applications, so i wouldn't worry about upgrading.
as for games, BF3 just came out. that's the best FPS out right now.

Thanks,I will be getting BF3 after seeing those sick-ass commercials

I was also hoping that I was able to stay to 600 watts or lower that way a I can get a good PSU without spending alot. All I knew is the one it comes with is not good and thats being kind. $30-40 ish is what I would like to spend.

It was $69 but there is a $25 rebate but I had to use the form from Tigerdirect.com because the Amazon rebate form is only $15 final price $45.99, Thanks again
