I'm a college student looking to upgrade from my 4ish year old dell desktop to something more capable of playing modern games.
Approximate Purchase Date: hopefully within a few weeks
Budget Range: Anywhere from 1000-1500, Hopefully I'll be able to keep it sub $1500, but it's not a huge deal breaker.
System Usage from Most to Least Important: Games will be the major computing strain, other than that I'll be using it for home media (definitely getting a Blu-Ray reader) and word processing etc.
Parts Not Required: I'll be hooking it up to my TV, so no monitor necessary.
Country of Origin: USA
Parts Preferences: I'm pretty set on i5-2500k sandy bridge and gtx 570 or radeon 6950
Overclocking: maybe, won't be paying someone to do it however.
SLI or Crossfire: Maybe, it seems that I will be able to get decent enough performance from a single card without dropping the extra 200-300, but down the road it may be upgraded, or if there's enough room in my budget I'd spring for SLI/CF
Monitor Resolution: HD TV (1920v1280)
Additional Comments: I would prefer if the tower looked less gamer and more subdued. other than that I have made a build on Cyberpower, since I really have no experience homebuilding (and I really don't have anytime with school starting again very soon). I was hoping for any suggestions on: 1) components I do/don't need and 2) where the best place to buy would be. I know everyone here will tell me to build it, and I know that the savings are large, but I have absolutely no experience, or friends with experience, in building computers. Thanks in advance for the help.
