HD Radeon 5xxx PCIe V2.1 compatibility on PCIe V2 mobo slot

I am planing to upgrade from onboard video card to a new one specificly HD 5670 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150467

my HP P6230F has this mobo http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c01925486&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&product=4006068
PCIe slot is V 2.0

I heard alot of rumors that video cards with v2.1 interface will not work and compatible on PCIe mobo slot v 2.0
So I am very confused and worry
is that right or not??

  1. It should be fine: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PCI_Express#PCI_Express_2.1

The 5670's a good choice for an OEM (HP, Dell, etc.).

You'll be fine. PCI-e 2.1 cards only have problems with PCI-e 1.x slots.
