Bios flash for 2700k ?

i saw a lot of the phenom processors required flashes for basically the same processors (which surprised me). ie. a motherboard that could take a 965 chip required a flash for a 970 chip? isn't that odd? i'm wondering if it's going to be the same thing with the 2700k?

What mobo? That's because the systems needs know the specs of the CPU

need to know the specs of the CPU? according to most articles i read, those phenom chips are all the same, just different stock multipliers.

Correct, even, I installed a 1090T in a MSI mobo without BIOS update and works, but the new BIOS is used for full support of the mobo for that CPU.
