Is this my install disk?

Last response: in Windows 7
Share

In 2009 we bought an HP desktop that had vista preloaded on it.
Windows disk were not included but it did have a recovery partition.
When Windows 7 was released, HP gave us a free upgrade disk to go from Vista to Windows 7 Home Premium.
My Question is this: Would this disk be our "windows installation disk"?
It has a "repair" option - so I assume it is a OEM installation disk.
Only reason I ask is to know I have a way to re-install Windows 7 in the event I need it.
Thanks

I understand - so if I had to reformat the hard drive - the Vista license could not be recovered?

Correct. U need to keep the serial from Vista to do new install, write it down or keep the sticker with serial on it.
