Why is there is no response when I enter ADMIN in the WRT54G router lo

Why is there is no response when I enter ADMIN in the WRT54G router login screen and what can I do to get the router's interface?
i type in 198.168.1.1 . I get the login screen. I type in ADMIN and leave PW blank, and the same login screen simply returns with no router interface.

I get this when I powered off /on the router, with firewall down, reset the router. nothing.

i get the same symptom in another computer that is connected to the router. btw, I tried these tests with only one pc connected to the router.

how can I get at the interface of the router?

Caps lock on??

Perhaps the default password is "password" or "admin"??

only have the router connected to the PC via network cable. disconnect the modem from the router.

login to the router via 192.168.1.1 it should only ask for a password which should be "admin".

There is no username. The password is "Admin" - Password is case sensitive.

Remember, no username, it's just a password.
