Bought the x4 955 be installed it on my m5a99x evo mobo.

The idle temp (No overclock) on stock cooler is 57-61c
If i overclock it (ai) to about 3500 mhz it`s at 70c+ (idle!?)

This is not normal is it? Should i buy a new cooler, i bet i would kill the cpu if i went to 3.7

Good choice but something is seriously wrong with the temps, could be bad installation, voltage to high or seriously bad case airflow.

amd tends to have dodgy temp sensors, have you taken off the side panel and touch (with warm hands) the heatsink ~5mins after a cold boot or when you have left the machine idling and the temps are showing 57-61c, is the heatsink warm, hot, or scalding? we feel 40ish as "hot" and 50+ as "very hot" so if the heatsink feels warm then its really only 30-40 if it feels really hot then the cpu really is hot
