Hello,
I ran cpu-z and its says my ram speed is 532.0mhz. The NB Freq. says 1119.0mhz. I am
confused on what that means! Can I please get some help here.
CPU-Z reports actual speed which is half of effective speed, in this case 1064MHz. All of this is because of Dual Data Rate=DDR ram is marketed on effective speed.
Ram it self would not be cause of any noticeable performance difference. If it is running slower there is something wrong, try running memtest on the ram http://www.memtest.org/
I believe you have to check with Dell Support for the specification of motherboard. It is because you have to make sure that the motherboard support your memory speed.
