[ASUS] What's this metal thing in front of the PS/2 Keyboard port?

I almost removed this thing in front of the port, but I saw in Newegg and several videos on my motherboard, that they all have the same part.

What is it?

It's just a pressure mounting. Don't worry, It'll be compressed down when the MB is in place.

Not sure what you mean by cave in, but it will lie flat against the port perimeter
