The Hitachi 7K100 (7200 RPM 100gig 2.5" hard drive) is supposed to be
shipping.

Anyone seen them for sale and in stock anywhere yet?

I won't go near Hitachi/IBM drives anymore..

Yeah, I heard somewhere that Hitachi/IBM drives killed your friend.<g>

In the real world, though, over the last few years, the Hitachi
Travelstar 2.5" drives are the best. Much quieter, much cooler, much
faster, and much more reliable.

Dunno about that, my 7K60 blew up at a Really Inconvenient Time (TM),
so I'm less than thrilled with them this week. OTOT, laptop drives
fail, so good backups are your friend no matter how reliable you think
you drive is or what it's warranty details are.
