Need help selecting compatible AM3 motherboard.

Hi there just bought a new Cpu to upgrade from an old one. I had bought it without thorough research and just found out its a 125 watt cpu and my motherboard has a tdp of 95 watts.

So I need help selecting a AM3 Motherboard that has a tdp of 125 watts. I would appreciate if you guys can provide me a list. In terms of cost I was looking for $60-$70. On the other hand how much of a difference would I experience from changing from my Athlon II X2 220 (2.8ghz) to my new AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition?

Thanks for the help!

  1. http://www.biostar-usa.com/app/en-us/mb/introduction.php?S_ID=555 ($59.99 at newegg); my board is almost identical to this model; it has three automatic overclocking settings; only item missing is usb 3.0. Your cpu should run on this board without having to flash the bios.
  2. Any other choices? The feedback ratings are a bit concerning.
  3. You rarely get outstanding feedback from everyone on any one board. But you're welcome to be as picky as you like. I use two biostar boards on my am3 cpus; in your price range they give you more bang for the buck. If you want to spend a little more, checkout asrock or msi.
  4. Hi there decided I will go with something similar, is this any good?

Anyways how are your Bio star motherboards? How long have they been running?
