Hey guys! It's been awhile.

I'm trying to help a friend decide which laptop to get. Personally I hate laptops because they feel like a dead end, but I guess every now and then i want one too haha.

The budget is $800

Needs: Everyday computing, word processing, movie watching. Little to no gaming that would require any video performance beyond HD movie watching.

The contenders:

We have an Acer Aspire vs a Toshiba Satellite.

The Acer's specs:

Intel Core i7-2630QM 2.0G

Memory Size
4GB DDR3 1066 mhz
Hard Disk
640GB - 5400rpm

Intel HD Graphics 3000

The Toshiba specs:

http://www.officedepot.com/a/products/777498/Toshiba-Satellite-P755-S5265-Laptop-Computer/#reviewTab

Price: 599.99 (down from 749.99)

Operating System
Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
CPU Type
2nd Gen Intel® Core™ i5-2410M Processor With Turbo Boost 2.0
Screen
15.6" - 1366 x 768 - HD TruBrite® LED Backlit display with Intel® Wireless Display Technology
Memory Size
6GB DDR3 1333MHz (though this one on Office Depot says PC3-10600?)
Hard Disk
640GB - 5400rpm
Graphics Card
Mobile Intel® HD Graphics - 64MB-1696MB dynamically allocated shared graphics memory

I was thinking the i7 processor would be a better choice and well worth the $100 dollars, but I see the i5 Toshiba has faster and more memory...

I've also heard that Acer may have a better build over toshiba.

What do you guys think he should get or have another laptop in mind under $800?

Thanks!
