Standart Mode: Fault outside of MS-DOS Extender

Help... Pleeeeze help!

I'm trying to install Windows Millenium on my new system, but once the installation procedure has checked all the harddrives and it about to start up I get the following error: Standart Mode: Fault outside of MS-DOS Extender


Athlon XP 1.6Ghz (1900+)
Epox 8KHA+ mainboard with the latest bios
1024mb ddr-ram
60gb IBM 60GXP harddisk which has new formattet partitions.


I'm itching to get this bad boy running, but I've got no idea what to do, so as to avoid getting the above error.

... please help.

This is all I could find on the subject. It is apparently not a common error with WinME.

I would check and make sure that your CMOS and memory settings are correct in the BIOS. Remove all unnecessary PCI cards during the OS installation; you can always go back and install them later.
