Corrupted Display in Video Games

I've been having some issues with certain video games on my Dell laptop. It isn't all of my video games, and no other function of my graphics card seems to be affected. Basically what happens is, stripes of color will run across the screen and I won't be able to see anything.

And my system specs:

Dell Studio 1555
Intel Core 2 Duo CPU T6600 @ 2.20 GHz
4.00 GB RAM
OS: 64 bit Windows 7
Graphics Card: ATI Mobility Radeo HD 4570

I've tried updating my graphics card driver, but that didn't fix it. Also, this problem didn't always exist. I used to be able to Sims 3 no problem, then at some point this issue presented itself.

Any help would be appreciated.

  1. Well the pictures aren't showing up for me. The monitor could be going bad, or it could be overheating. Have you checked your temps? Honestly since its a laptop the best thing to do is have it repaired by Dell, hope its still on warranty.
  2. I changed it to links so you can see the pictures.

I have an external fan to keep the heat down and I don't think it's the monitor, because it works fine the rest of the time. It's only in certain video games.
