Kingston HyperX 1866 RAM with Gigabyte H77M-D3H motherboard

Will 1866 speed RAM still work in a H77M-D3H motherboard.
The motherboard only spec upto 1600 speed RAM. Will this combination still work and only run at the fastest capable of 1600 or will it not work at all?

Yes, 1866 will work on h77 but at 1600 speed. It will automatically underclock. If not, you can underclock memory by yourself.
