XFX HD 6670 1GB DDR3

need opinion on which 1s better n will either of em b able to function smoothly on existing 300W PSU

I'm pretty sure the TDP of both cards are in the mid 60s. If this is the case they will run the same on the PSU.

I say buy the cheaper of the two. The RAM and CPU will hold back those cards before the PSU.

Edit: I just looked, there is a 5W difference between them.

No, the only rebrand in the HD 6XXX series is the HD 6770 which is a rebadged 5770. As it has already been stated, the 6670 is a new card that is slightly more powerful than the 5670, though it consumes a little bit more power. It does not require an external PCI-E power connector and draws all its power from the motherboard, just as the 5670 does.

Whether it will run on the OP's PSU is questionable, while both the 5670 and 6670 could be run on good quality 300 Watt units, lower quality models are probably not up to the task.

Also, try to find the models with GDDR5 RAM, they will perform much faster. A 5670 with GDDR5 RAM will outperform a 6670 with GDDR3 RAM. To save money you can go with the 512MB versions with GDDR5, neither the 5670 nor the 6670 will take full advantage of 1GB of Video RAM.

Hi,

I just wondered whether you got your HD6670 or HD5670 card to work in your HPdx5150mt PC?

Cheers!
