Buying the right gfx card

Hello,
my system configuration is
Intel D946GZIS motherboard
Intel Core 2 Duo 2.13 GHz
3 GB (2+1) ddr2 ram.
i need a graphics card for basic gaming like need for speed etc. my budget is as low as possible. somebody told me that i can get one within 5 to 6 thousand INR...kindly help me.

I'm not familiar with your currency, but no one can really help you make a good choice with perhaps the most important piece of info. What is the resolution of your monitor?

You can certainly get one for much lower than that (3000), but you'll just get less performance. "As low as possible" is no information; how much are you willing to spend?

thank you friends...sorry that i didnt give proper information...actually my budget is 5000-6000 INR (Indian Rupees) and i need the gfx card for basic gaming, not very high end gaming.
about resolution of monitor i guess its 1280x768, but i m not sure...its a 17" LG monitor..how do u exactly find it out??
