Which is the best combination of processor/motherboard/display card/memory for high end graphics use

Could you explain "high end graphics use"? Are you developing 3D models for a game or structural engineering? Or, are you designing 2D images for logos, book covers, etc. or just basic photo editing? If the former is the case, then you may look into one of those workstation video cards. They're quite pricy though. I would recommend at least 4 GB of RAM in this case, though this isn't my realm of expertise. If the latter is your case, then you don't need anything significant - an i3 with 2 GB RAM should far more than enough.

The "best" is a relative term. Picking the best always depends on the budget and the use of the PC.
