AMD 1090t X6 Black edition bundle or i5 2500k

hi

i am being offered a
AMD 1090t black edition with a Asus Crosshair formula IV mobo for less price than a intel i5 2500k
should i buy it? or spend loads of cash for i5 + supporting motherboard ( am thinking of P8z68-deluxe

my purpose upgradeing is purely GAMES i have a 19 inch lcd so i wont be going beyond 1280X 1024 resolution anytime soon.


my current system is

Intel Core 2 duo E7200 oced to 3.6ghz
4gb Crossair dominator II 800mhz
Asus P5ql-pro Motherboard
his HD6850 1gb
xigmatic 702 psu
coolermaster haf922 case with total of 4 fans installed
and Coolermaster v6gt cooler
1.5 tera segate baracuda

ill make it simple
in my country (pakistan)
i can get the 1090t with formula IV for like 16000 rupees whereas the i5 2500k and the p8 at a combined price of 45000
so i am saving alot of money if i go for AMD.


so any suggestions??

If you are on a tight budget then Thuban is OK. Otherwise the if you dont have any budget constraints then the i5 2500k is a no-brainer.

The 2500 is the better chip, but that's a huge price difference. I'd get the AMD setup also.

yeah i was thinking the same, cuz i can get both mobo and the processor in less than wot it will cost me to just get the i5 2500k

I would go with the AMD 1090T.

Just be aware that at best games barely use 4 cores. If you can drop down to a quad core Phenom II X4 CPU, then you may be able to save some money.
