Opinion Wanted: Dell XPS 8300 at Costco

Apologies if this post belongs in a different forum as I am a newbie. Constructive criticism is welcome.

Costco is running a special on the Dell XPS 8300 for $999 (link below).

Upsides seem to be:
i7-2600
8GB RAM
1 TB 7,200 SATA
Blu-Ray
23" HD Monitor
Full Version of Microsoft Office

Cons:
AMD Radeon 6450 GPU
No Wireless N card
No USB 3.0

I'll get a wifi card immediately and will try the system with the 6450 before likely upgrading to a better NVidia card, but the pricing looks almost too good to pass up considering inclusion of the monitor and MS Office. Am I missing something?

  1. I don't think you are missing anything. Just bare in mind that when you upgrade the GPU to a better one then you will most likely need a new PSU.
  2. Not a bad rig but I am not a big dell fan. You could build a way better desktop for 1 grand..
  3. Thanks for the comments. My only concern at this point is whether the wifi card will fit when I upgrade the GPU, given the lack of slots and size of the case. (I forgot to add that as a con in the OP, limited expandability). Is anyone familiar enough with the case to know whether that will be a problem?
