Advantage of dual ram and it power comsumption

1. Is their any performance benefit of installing 2 modules of 1gb over single module of 2gb (all module are identical and of same vendor)( ddr2 pc2-5300 ram).
2. What will be the power consumption ratio of 2*1gb ram vs 1*2gb ram of identical type.
3. How much is the power consumption of a ddr2 pc2-5300 ram at standard settings of clock and timings

I read that it has a slight advantage. Plus if one goes bad... there would another one to at least make the PC work. RAM's power consumption are very low so its hardly taken into consideration when making a build. You can Google for the exact amount of Watts they take.

that's pretty much satisfactory answer, but does 2*1gb ram consumes more power than 1*2gb ram of identical type.

if your motherboard has dual channel support then 2 modules will be faster

ram modules only use about 4 or 5 watts each so about 10 watts for 2 modules
