AMD Phenom II X4 960T Zosma vs Phenom II X4 955 BE

Hi.

I was planning on putting a phenom x4 955 BE into my new budget gaming build im putting together this month.

however i see the x4 960T Zosma just went on sale and costs about the same as a 955 BE. Whats the difference between these 2 cpus? I know the zosma can *maybe* unlock to 6 cores but it also says that its 3.0 GHZ vs 3.2Ghz on the 955.

Can anyone shed some light?

thanks

  2. thanks for the quick answer. the 960T sounds pretty meh...

im going to stick with the 955.
  3. What's a good mobo for this cpu? Preferrably in the $100 range.
  4. since you already have a GPU, check out the AMD 970 mobos. they can handle AM3 CPUs and future AM3+ like the bulldozer and next year's piledriver. brands like gigabyte, asus, MSI, etc., have several offerings all with similar features.

    a few to look at

if you can order from newegg, they have some open box 970 mobos also. it could save you a few dollars if you wanted to purchase one.
