Amd phenom

Right I know about computers, but im no expert,
so I was wondering what is the difference between an amd phenom x4 3.4 and the black edition one?
they both run at the same speed?

and would it make a difference which one I buy for gaming with?

Black editions are identical with the exception of having an unlocked multiplier. This gives you the option to overclock by simply increasing the multiplier making the job much simpler.

BE also tends to have the higher amount of cache. I.E. L3 of the BE Phenom II is 6 mb wheras some of the weaker models use 512 kb

Oh rite lol,
wel im buyin a phenom ii x4 9xx, but I dnt know which one to get.
the highest I can have is 965 BE, is the something just as good for cheaper,
or is this the best option?

Ive got an amd athlon ii x3 425
6gb ddr3 ram soon to be 8
sapphire radeon hd 5570 1gb, getting 6770 soon
230watt psu I think, but im getting an antec 620watt dnt know what name lol
1TB hdd

The only Phenom at 3.4GHz that exist is the Phenom II X4 965 BE, the BE means unlock multiplier for easy overclock.

What's the difference between an unlocked CPU and a locked CPU? Overclock capability. I suggest you the Phenom II X4 955, excellent CPU and cheap for performance.

it is am3 socket? Isnt it

and the 6770 im gunna get will the work good with it?
as in not run games slow?

aswel what 6770 is the best to buy? Saphire, xfx etc?

Yeah it's AM3 socket.

For GPU i always prefer ASUS or MSI, can you go with a 6850? Would be better for games.

will that run on 620watt antec psu?
Is sapphire any good? Ive got sapphire 5570 and its not been bad at all

Yeah, Sapphire is good but not for overclock. If you aren't interested in overclock is a good option.
