I have read many discussions about the importance of getting
memory from reputable companies for tbirds/durons. In that vein, what/who should I look at for a 128 or 256 solution?

Since these ultra fast dimms weren't available here, i just got some chap ones, PC133 128Mb CAS3. They seem to be stable at CAS2 too, so i'm happy with them.. They are from Spectek.

Go for Crucial, they are the best price/performance in my opinion. (www.crucial.com)
