what do u suggest for better rpotection. a router or software firewall. im currently at a university and the firewall here are great but i need to protect myself from viruses with in the network. every time there is a break people bring there comps back from home nd the network slows down becuase of all the viruses within the system. i want to protect myself.

just looking for suggestions, i run a dlink 604 rresidental 4 port router at home never got anything so i think im just going to pick another one of those up just wanted to see what u all thought?

A home router is much better than any software firewall. Having a separate physical hardware device will always be better than software.
