Wireless card or USB?

I am waiting on the motherboard for my PC build, but one thing I forgot was connecting to a network. I can't hardwire it because the modem/router is too far away.
Is it better to get a network card to install inside the computer or could I get a decent USB network adapter to use?
Cheaper the better, but I plan on gaming on my computer so good quality is still needed.

I personally use a wireless card's on all desktops I have, just one less USB device sticking out that can get lost if removed!
