Is it really necessary to get a CPU cooler for Core i7 2600?

I'm currently using the default intel cooler which comes with the CPU.

Is the intel cooler enough or do I need to get one from company such as aftermarket etc?

The Intel cooler is fine as you can't overclock that processor.

yep. no need to go to the expence of a cooler when you cant oc the cpu... the intel 1 is good enough...
if your insistent then get a low cost solution like the cnps10 flex its really cheap but really will work.

The stock cooler for the Intel® Core™ i7-2600 will work find in a normal environment. Now if you have limited air flow or you must have a very quite system then you would want to look at something difference.
