I was cleanng the CPU slot 'frame' on my Asus Ramapage IV Gene (as my friend had applied too much thermal paste onto the CPU and it had spilled out) with a microfibre cloth and it snagged onto the pointy mini prongs(?) which make up the surface where you mount the CPU.
I stupidly yanked the cloth off and it had caused one of those 'prongs' to become raised out. I feared that I had broken the slot but I put the CPU and fan back into the computer and it seems fine.
I was just wondering if I had done any serious damage to the CPU slot or if I will have any problems down the line because I don't even know exactly what the thing I broke even is.
Sorry if that is a bit confusing to read (I will retype anything that doesn't make sense) but any help would be much appreciated.
