ATI 5970 vs 2x ATI 6970

I had to RMA my ATI 5970 back to HIS due to some problems and now they are offering to give me 2x ATI 6970 as a replacement since they are out of stock for the 5970. Do I lose/gain from this deal? Some research shows that the CF 6970 gives better scaling. Is there any downside to this deal? Thanks for your help!

You are gaining, the only downside is if you don't have the spacing between the two cards, one might get hotter as a result. The two 6970's also cost more, so you are being given a pretty generous deal I think.

if you have a capable psu and a crossfire capable motherboard then that is a very good deal.
