Whats a good high quality motherboard for this setup? ($200 budget):

Hi. I'm looking for a high-quality *gaming* motherboard that is compatible for this setup. I'm not planning to OC. I do also want at least 1 HDMI-port so I can use a HDMI-cable with my monitor for 1080p, and basically get my money worth out of it. I will be spending up to $210, no more then that. I could spent about $20 - $30 more if I will be getting my money worth. I'm going to be using this for Internet surfing + Gaming mostly.

Processor: Intel Core i7 2700K

Memory: Corsair Vengeance 16GB DDR3

Optical Drive: (Haven't chosen one yet)

Case: APEVIA X-TROOPER Series X-TRP-RD

Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit

Thermal Paste: Arctic Silver AA-1.75G Thermal Compound Paste

Monitor: ASUS VH236H

Mice & Keyboard: Logitech Desktop MK120

  2. Agree with the board above, but why even worry about HDMI? Most (if not all) Z68's and Z77's have HDMI, but your GPU will almost definitely have HDMI too, unless you're talking about running more than one monitor from HDMI.

If you only have one monitor, the HDMI port on the motherboard will never be used anyway.
  3. Thanks for the suggestions, especially the optical drive! I'm still open to more suggestions, I haven't heard the best things about that mobo though. I was thinking about getting an ASUS Gene V ($205.00) but I am very skeptical about that mobo.
  4. Updated thread, added more info.
