Can I double RAM size by taking two sets of QVL?

Hello,

I'm trying to find DDR3 RAM compatible with P8Z77-V LX and with high speed. In QVL (qualified list of vendors) I can see configuration 8G(2x4G) DDR3-2133 and wandering if I get two exact sets of that 8G model will that work as 16G(4x4G).

So basically my question can be generalized: can I get two sets of QVL memory and double RAM size, or if that was possible they would put that configuration in QVL?

Thanks

It'll probably work just fine, but 2133 is basically a waste of money unless you're going to be using a RAM disk. You'll NEVER notice the difference in any normal usage between 1600 and 2133 (that includes gaming).

Save some money and just get either 4x4GB or 2x8GB (what I recommend and what I would get) of 1600 RAM.

+1

I have 8 sticks running at 2133 so it is possible but it may not work for everyone. It all depends on your motherboard's power delivery and CPU quality.
