Memory upgrade question

I recently replaced my faulty RAM and I'm now thinking in a near future upgrade. (probably by the end of the year)
I currently have ADATA 2GB X 2 DDR3 G2000 sticks.

They run at 9 9 9 24 (default) but I can't find similar ram, If I use different RAM that runs at the same specs as default, would it work?

other specs:
CPU i5 750 @2.67
MB EVGA P55 SLI LE E653
Video Geforce 9800 GT 512MB

I would like to upgrade from 4GB to 12GB of RAM.

thanks

  1. I personally don't think you should mix ram modules get matching ones.
  2. i agree, it could make trouble shooting down the road a pain.
12gb? that is an odd amount. you have Dual Channel so i guess its possible, to add 2x 4 gb but i would not. it would be better to replace the 2x2 with the 2x4 and sell the 2x2 on ebay or gift to a friend.
  3. found on newegg dont know what speed you have now but
    ADATA XPG Gaming Series 4GB (2 x 2GB)
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820211409

    same timing
