PCI-E Connector missing on card?

I have an Avermedia HDMI capture card ( I know this might be in the wrong place but it can happen with any card not just this one ) and it worked great for the first few months but stopped working all of a sudden, I pulled it out and noticed that one of the gold lines on the connector is missing on the front, it's there on the back though? Anyone have any ideas as to if I can repair this or what to do? I compared the card to a friend who has the same card yesterday and that gold bar was there.

That is a normal (short) connector on many PCIe cards. That's not your problem.
